Just trying to get out from under the data thumb of shmamazon and shmezos. It’s probably already too late for that, but this is one thing I can do. 🩷.

Excellent so far, and so much good UNC-CH stuff! Only bit that felt wrong was the unsung founders memorial being in the arboretum when it’s meant to be in mccorkle place, but I understand why the author did it for narrative reasons. Did send me straight to google maps to check my memory though, lol!

This is giving me major Bitch Planet vibes, and I am here for it.

You know what’s a baller move? Waiting until about 1/3 of the way through your memoir to use the name of your scumbag attacker.

If at nearly 40% of the way through a book you feel like it’s a SLLLLOOOOOOWWWWW one and you go to the goodreads summary just to see if you’re missing something, and then get spoiled…I think it means the issue is not with you, but the book. I’m going to keep reading it, but damn - why is the plot of the book not matching the description so far???

Quitting here. It’s interesting, but…I am 1/3 of the way in, and I’m both confused and not invested in the protagonists.

I can’t decide if I like this book so far. Sometimes I’m very curious to see how it’s going to turn out, and other times I find myself saying “get on with the actual plot of the book I was promised!”

I had very little context going in, and that was the right choice. So good. A super fascinating and geeky book!
