I think the cave creature is a shoggoth that just wants to be left in peace, lol. That, or it's The Thing and the dog, Thunder, is its friend.

It's amazing how angry I am with the main character--to the point I have legitimately stopped liking her entirely--but how I still care a lot about this world and the story. That's kinda rare for me. Maybe it's because the side characters are as upset with her attitude as I am?

F I N A L L Y

Usually don't begin counting a book as "currently reading" until I've reached 25%, but my god I cannot believe how mind-blowingly stupid the MC is?? Raised with doomsday-prepper levels of paranoia, and she *immediately* leaves with three--THREE--strange men CONNECTED to the reason for said paranoia. Without telling anyone. Without bringing a weapon. Having one of them lampshade this =/= a reasonable excuse.

We get Amy's POV only for it to be a long winded backstory about Curtis. Glad I read an entire chapter about Amy only to learn NOTHING about her and ONLY about the MMC. 🙃

Sangwoo literally makes my skin crawl. He's so unpredictable, and it's just plain terrifying.

I don't know how an anthology can be consistently such a drag to get through, but this one really is so far. The only reason I'm not gonna dnf this is that it's an audiobook, and there has to be at least one other story that I like, right??

Every time I see a reference to The House that Fell from the Sky and/or Silvers Hollow, I get *far* too excited. Why do I love this universe so much?!

Amazon did the SMART and lists THTFFTS, Silvers Hollow, and this as a series. And....THTFFTS is getting a (semi)DIRECT SEQUEL?! I wanted to finish Wicked World before this, but it's hard to carry around physical books anymore, so I'm plunging in. Horrifying so far. 👍 (If anyone sees this, do you know if I should to finish that book first, y/n?)

Only 20 pages to go, but I think I'm gonna dip. I seriously cannot handle this constant gaslighting and the twisting of words. Considering I already can predict how this book is gonna end, I doubt this will bring me anything but rage. Not scary at all, just anger inducing, which I hate with the intensity of a thousand suns.

Why is the woman who turns down a hookup immediately after getting her career/life threatened by a drunken bigot in the WRONG? How is needing to go home to feel comforted and safe an OVERREACTION, especially after her previous trauma? And every character thinks this, even her?! I would be sobbing and shaking the rest of the night if it were me, because I'm a big baby. >:(

...if it wasn't for this being an audiobook, I doubt I could bring myself to finish this. I actively hate everything about Weird of the White Wolf so far. I guess publication order would have been better than having to suffer this massive downward shift in writing style/characterization.

Finished Book 3: The Sailor on the Seas of Fate. There's a lot I could say, like it's very surreal and weird, or what have you. Instead, I just want to say, "Stormbringer?!!! STORMBRINGER!!!! OMGGGGG!!!!" Nearly had a conniption at that ending, lol. I am 1000% here for the evil, soul-sucking sword of Chaos.

Just finished book 2, the Fortress of the Pearl. Overall, what you would expect from characters tromping through a gritty dreamland, but THAT ENDING, omfg (pre-epilogue). I love Elric.

Finished Book 1: Elric of Melniboné. Elric, I love that you are trying really, really hard to have morals in an immoral land, but dude...use at least ONE of those brains cells, holy crap. There's mercy, and there's what Simiril essentially called "criminally foolish."

I can't wait to be done with this book and then to never read another book about abusive fathers for as long as I live.
