So far this book does a /way/ better job of balancing human-animal aspects of the story than Rhamin does. Yes, the human conflict is the driving force of the story, but the book is still very much about the dogs. Whereas Rhamin constantly loses focus of the wolf characters in favor of barely-connected human subplots.
Props to Montgomery for keeping up the balancing act. 👍
