So far I am finding this to be one of the most affirming, encouraging "personal style" book I have ever read! As someone with an art/art history background, I am finding this book's approach so refreshing and illuminating.

Ugh, I absolutely hate this narrator and the way she does Gobbilino’s voice. But I’ve made it this far, so I’ll go to the end. I do want to find out if he discovers a loving home. :)

ugh, I just can't finish this. Jules Verne seems to think the British Way is Always the Superior Way (which is odd, because he's French), I don't understand what Fix is doing, and the only woman character is defined (mostly) by her appearance. Maybe if I had listened to the version narrated by Jim Dale I would have found it more charming. Perhaps someday I'll give that one a go.

augh, reading this is making me want to watch the movie SO BAD! I wish I could find it somewhere!!!!! It was such a favorite of my childhood.

Ha, I have such a bad attitude about this book and am forcing myself to finish it. I'm sure it's actually quite decent, but I am riding high on Mary Poppins and Peter Whimsy enchantment and this story feels dull and trite in comparison. There's no sense of place. I don't like her writing style. It worked well for the diary entries of "Catherine, Called Birdy," but feels awkward and stiff here.
Okay, rant over.

ahhhh! As much as I enjoy the other ones, this Chronicle will forever be my favorite journey to Narnia.
