Lots of action now. But still a lot of science, most of which is now proven false.

As with a lot of books of this time, there's a lot of words and not a lot of action.

Been forgetting to update. Slowly picking my way through, when I get the chance. I'm enjoying more than I thought I might. There are some oddities in the style and the timeline, which others have mentioned, but they're not enough to ruin the book for me, at least not yet.

Was reading this on my nook, no idea why I stopped. And then I forgot I was reading it and started other books. I'll get back to finishing this once I finish plantagenet.

Despite my earlier praises the writing has become more clunky and clumsy. It feels at times as though the author is trying to replicate the TV series scene-for-scene, which was my original fear. However the story is interesting enough to keep my attention for now.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I'm not aware of the TV series and I was worried that the writing might be lazy as it would've been intended for people who had seen the programme, but it has me hooked before the first chapter is even up.

I wasn't sure what to make of this. Having never heard of the series or the writer I wondered whether that was for a good reason. It also seems to have mixed reviews on Goodreads.

But before I got rid of it I wanted to give it a try. After all it's only a thin book and it's a genre I usually enjoy. So far so good! Definitely similarities with other books of the genre, but enough different to help it stand apart.

So far a good introduction to both functional programming and more specifically F# as a language.

I've been reading this one a while, on and off, but kept forgetting to update my progress. I've found it fascinating to see how Jesus fit within the culture of his day, and to put some of his words and actions into context in a way I've never seen done before. It's helped make things a lot clearer to me. I'm going to need to find some more of his writing now, I think, to help me explore this a little further!

Keep forgetting to update. I've found this an interesting book, nearly finished. It's definitely quite personal to the author's journey and opinions, and to some extent a little dated now, but still interesting to see quite a broad subsection of the off grid community.

Been forgetting to update! Really interesting read, with some interesting and useful information in there. I like how he shares the information he's learned and the conversations he's had in the context of his own journey; it turns would could be a dry retelling of the facts into a vibrant (and sometimes cringe-worthy) narrative.

Just read a great little history of how "the grid" came to be, with some speculation about how things could have turned out if different choices had been made. Very interesting and thought provoking!

350-odd pages of dense text, this one might take me a while, but he's a good writer and I'm finding it interesting so far. Nice to know his story and why he is interested in the subject.

Well, so far they've been captured, tortured, escaped, nearly drowned and captured again. But still plenty of time for a good feast every now and then! It's exciting to read the story of Martin the hero of Redwall!

The Redwall books are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. They're technically Young Adult, or possibly even children's books, but they're so well written and I thoroughly enjoy spending a bit of time in their world. This one has been waiting on the shelf for a while, it won't take long for me to devour it and face the emptiness that follows finishing a good book.

Been forgetting to update. Nearly finished this book, which provides a useful introduction to and summary of the rest of the series. I'll definitely need to investigate reading the rest of the series!

David is on page 90 of 168 of Forest Church: A Field Guide to a Spiritual Connection with Nature
After chapter 4 going through practical ways we can improve our own personal connection to nature, chapter 5 (which I've only just begun) shifts the focus to the practicalities of forming, maintaining and leading a group. The subjects of group dynamics and leadership techniques are huge subjects on their own, so the book scratches only the surface, but as with the other subjects it explores, it covers a lot of ground

Along with the calls to connect with nature, and much encouragement in that area, Bruce has also begun to provide some practical tips how one might go about that. This book is not limited to Forest Church, but rather is looking at a much wider problem. I love it!

I'm enjoying this so far, nice to see that he embraces the earth relationships we see in other religions; on the flip side it's also nice to see that he doesn't immediately blame Christendom for the disconnection we currently suffer from the earth.

Having been on a course with Kyle I was keen to deepen my knowledge of JavaScript and where better to start than with Kyle's book series. So far this first book in the series has just covered programming basics, to ensure that all readers are coming from the same starting point. It's well written and well paced; I think I will enjoy finishing this book and reading the rest of the series.
