I had to leave this book home today so I wouldn't be tempted to pick it up and read it. It's that good!

Great book! "...all information we receive about God, through nature, Scripture, or whatever source, comes to us through our eyes, ears, minds, and brains—through ourselves. . . . [God] condescends to dwell in and with us, as in a temple. He identifies himself in and through our thoughts, ideas, and experiences. And that identification is clear; it is adequate for Christian certainty." What an awesome God!

"There are no insignificant people in the redemptive plan of God. Not one of us is here by accident. And not one of our circumstances has taken God by surprise. . . . [Joseph's life is] a reminder that God is at work even when we cannot see or know what he is doing. When Joseph was on his way to visit his brothers, God had the pit in mind. . . . even when Joseph is with Pharaoh, God has more than that in mind."
