Possibly the single greatest insult to Raphael Lemkin's legacy imaginable, using his biography and words as a launchpad for ahistoric imperialist forever war consent manufacturing. Well-tailored drivel with the glare of omissions hitting so sharply, my eyes can barely focus on the page.

I wished to be an informed hater, but I was not prepared for how wretched and insidious this book was going to be. Hope you're real proud of the impacts our "War on Terror" has had and the course of your righteous Zionist crusade against The Global Islamist Threat, Sammy. It is not a cautionary tale when she became a massively wealthy international ambassador, but good fuckin lord. Our parents need brain transplants.

Was she.... actually-actually a CIA "liberal academic-turned-ambassador"??? I can see this being convincing in 2002 with what the average American could've reasonably been expected to know about the world with all the ideological blinders up, um, but I do not think that his has remained convincing in 2025 and it reads like... an asset. Like, actually. The Qur'an fearmonger quoting is mmmmmmmaybe a bit heavy handed

This... is why boomer neoliberals are who they are. This is the backbone of their ideology w/ the passage of time having weathered away any flesh. Terrifying. A compassionate Western chauvinist argument for Team America: World Police in 2002(!) ignoring all Cold War coups/"interventions"/genocides other than that of the Khmer Rouge. Ngl there's worthwhile stuff here, but the deliberate scope limitations are damning.

Difficult to convey how incredibly dark this is to read in retrospect with what we watched these "progressive" frauds justify, how they conducted themselves, and the specific arguments they have echoed from history's most repulsive pasts. Class interests are really something. Western chauvinism is really something. Also, interesting omissions of all covert US actions and influences/fallouts from its "perspective."

What a cliche, to say that a work "breathes life into dead theory," but I had never before felt this so completely and essentially as with this text. Intellectual alchemy approaching the sublime, so many points of "holy shit, dude, thank you" in its undoing of discursive knots that have haunted formalist and structuralist/post-structuralist neo-Suvinian literary theory (as well as more personal intellectualization)

Gonna need a grant for a couple of thousand dollars to mail out copies of this book to the "progressive liberal allies" in my life who were abhorrently ableist insulting pieces of shit to me for five years, dismissing material reality, my lived knowledge, and my desire for basic bodily safety (not that any would be willing to crack the cover when listening to someone they ostensibly cared about was too much to ask)

Couldn't be much more essential, seek out the ebook while it is presently free.
