Now in the throes of 2016...!

the commentary on 3.2.268-9 suggests an allusion to "the Renaissance commonplace, supposedly a saying of Anacharsis, that the laws were like spiders' webs which caught the small flies but let the big insects through"

From "Madeleine" by Amal El-Mohtar: "She wonders at how change comes in like a thief in the night, dismantling our sense of self one bolt and screw at a time until all that's left of the person we think we are is a broken door hanging off a rusty hinge, waiting for us to walk through."

So, Alice Sola Kim has written a short story riffing on Ray Bradbury's "All Summer in a Day," and the intro merely says "'One Hour, Every Seven Years' takes us through the life and times of a time-travel researcher trying to save her childhood self." Odd. (I prefer Jacob Weisman's comment in the book's introduction, that she's taking the Bradbury story "on a test drive through time.")

Very enjoyable so far. I really loved "The Secret Life of Bots."
