So far this is exactly what the series of short videos promised. I like that it's a little more fleshed out and I hope the author keeps practicing this unique format in future writing.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck I started this book last year

JFC 21hrs left. Let's reset the goal to " by the end of the year" I think

These other authors I might read again, but Ann Leckie is just so consistent about having very clever ideas and then expressing them in a not-very-clever way that makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

Here we are. A quarter through. I feel like I've read two books worth of narrative already.

At this rate I will be due to finish this book in May

My normal reading pace is like standing still relative to this thing 😅

Love Gibson's prose but takes so much more concentration than the average audio book to stay on top of...

Amazed I'm still going with this. It is not getting better as I read. Quite the opposite

There are moments of clarity and good ideas. There are a few cute character moments... But there are also looong sections where the editor clearly just gave up on getting the author to write coherently.

Low expectations are keeping me going in this for now but it's s still on thin ice

Picked this up because it was immediately available from the library when I wanted to listen to something and was between Audible credits.

I do not have high hopes so far. Author has clearly read enough hard sci-fi to know that a ship would need to flip-and-burn to decelerate... But doesn't seem to understand that this process would involve a few minutes of zero gravity and definitely be detected by the crew.

I keep seeing tiny indicators that the author is absolutely a kinkster trying to constrain herself to write vanilla friendly romance and proto-smut.
