Over twenty years have passed since I first walked the frigid streets of Paris with Jean Valjean, the most famous bread thief in literary history. And lately, I’ve heard the familiar refrain from a novel long since read: Come back.

So much to unpack. that’s why, as I learn to embrace the solstice of my life, I eagerly retrace old sentences with new footsteps, curious whether they still lead to the same place.

This book is amazingly eye opening. It’s challenging, thoughtful, and worth every drop of sweat that falls as I mine it for gold.
