I think this book is never going to end. I want it to end. My goal of reading the sequels might get curtailed.

Really dense chapters. Not a light summer read. I'm loving the opening section, but it's not easy.

Quickly added to my top 5 or 10 favorite books. Steinbeck makes it a business of history. The Trask boys are full of humanity. Wisdom on every page. Cannery Row and then Grapes of Wrath are next for reading.

Out of my element. The unavoidability of death? Beautifully written prose. After starting this about 5 years ago, I don't know what to think unless I read it again at some point. Maybe I'll read the Border Trilogy meanwhile.

Fascinating prose like Fitzgerald. Cool story, bro. I like when writers share generations of a family's backstory.
