I think I'm too obsessed with doctor who but when you describe a mechanical sphere with wires inside that look like a face, in a torchwood novel no less, then my first thought is toclafane.

This book seems like a lot of character development, I like that. This one girl is on diet pills though and if the fat just seems to walk away and torchwood are near then it probably actually does.

The author was definitely trying to play it safe by not daring to get involved with any main character building in the story and adding in a mysterious bonus team member

I feel like the author was trying to play it safe and was too scared to add to the main character stories so added in this mysterious bonus character to base the story around, this would be fine if the story itself was easy to read :/

OH GREAT NOW IANTO AND OWEN ARE LEFT ALONE IN THE HUB SO I PREDICT A RIOT THERE PROLLY ABOUT THE RIFT

Also we've got this mystery new team member who I won't be impressed with if it turns out he can change memories by putting his hand on your shoulder

I feel kind of like I saw this once, seems horribly similar to that time Jack and Tosh went through the rift and nearly got stuck in the pre-war party :/
