Austin Gannett is on page 108 of 288 of Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God's Plan for the World
I started this a while ago and had to put it down because of other things. But, I would say this is such a great introduction into the world of a biblical/theological understanding of vocation and work. Apart from delving into Calvin, Luther, or the Dutch Reformers (Kuyper & Bavinck) - this seems a great place to start!

Austin Gannett is reading Discipleship in the Present Tense: Reflections on Faith and Culture
This is a collection of essays (which have been really edifying thus far), but reading them piecemeal and it's been fun.

Austin Gannett is on page 128 of 160 of Who's Afraid of Postmodernism?: Taking Derrida, Lyotard, and Foucault to Church (The Church and Postmodern Culture)
Almost finished, but so far, so great - per usual with something from Smith. Though, in some ways, I have been a bit more disappointed with final portion of the book: feels like more of a way to talk about Radical Orthodoxy (which I am just learning about) rather than a particular landing point. But, that is a small gripe - his conclusion is building, and I look forward to seeing its true conclusion.

My wife and I have been going through this imaginative mythology written by the master, Tolkien. Slowly but surely, we progress a few pages each night, but we get to savor. And, I am reminded just how much Peter Jackson misses Tolkien's rich narrative and character development in his movies.

Austin Gannett is on page 48 of 198 of Imagining the Kingdom: How Worship Works (Cultural Liturgies)
I began this book in part for research and in part for edification. However, I had to read it rather piecemeal and I thought it important to read the first book in the series before finishing this one. Thought, I am even more excited to come back to it after nearing completion of the first.

So far, thoroughly thought-provoking, challenging, and enriching. Excited to finish and move on to the 2nd book in the Cultural Liturgies Series - Imagining the Kingdom. In particular, Smith's advocacy for the importance of the imagination and embodiment correlate well with my recent paper on the arts as an embodied missiology. Again, I'm excited to see where the rest of the book goes: his thesis seems spot-on to me.
