Wow! Action! And it only took around 240 pages or so. I get that the story has to be set up and world-creation is not an easy thing for an author to establish, but there's something to be said about bringing on the fantasy part of the fantasy book first and the rest of the stuff later on (politics, characters, more politics, setting, and even more politics).

Bit of a slow plod in transitioning from one storyline to another, especially with all the pondering and philosophy and brooding with seemingly every second character. Still in it for the long run though, and more of Amy, the central character in "The Passage" and this one as well.
