So far this appears to be a very sexist book. It makes the assumption that if you are interested in sewing you must therefore be female. The first project it offers is a cutesy vest made from placemats. I feel like I've been thrown into the midst of a bored housewives club who have to finish each chapter before the kids get home from school.
