I think my days of reading bloated fantasy epics may be over with ...

Now things are picking up, but the author needs to start on his ADHD meds. He jumps all over the place often for little effect.

Sooo many disparate threads, and a guy who was bitten half a book ago who is still travelling fine?! Will these issues be addressed...?

Slow going so far.

Stupid Goodreads, making me calculate percentage read when I've reading the paperback and the version I selected for my shelf IS the paperback option.

Alright, this is a hell of a tome. 650 or so pages with tiny writing to boot, let's see if I can knock this off by the New Year ...

A slow burn, but an engaging slow burn.

Well written, especially for a first time author. But the pacing is becoming languid - at best.

I wonder if I'll actually finish a book sometime soon. It's a slog at the moment, for some reason I can't put my finger on.

Slogging through it, finding the occasional gem in amongst the stories.

Overly long and not that amazing so far. Pretty standard apocalyptic stuff.

Skipped to read all the authors I know and like, or am curious about. Not surprisingly, this collection has improved. Tim Curran and William Meikle's contributions were good, and Jeffrey Thomas' story was the best of the lot. Will continue with a couple of others and then review my progress.

The story of Troy as affected by R'lyeh? Underwhelming.
