First impression:
While the man has a wide and varied vocabulary, he's using it to write some of the most pretentious prose ive ever read. like that two page run-on sentence back there.
I'm a pretty serious completionst, but if some story doesn't start happening soon (rather than page after page after page of pontificating on the nature of men that are drawn to the sea) I'm not sure I'll be able to finish this one.
