I started out thinking I'd about had enough, or too much, of Zack Walker. . . but here I am avidly devouring No. 4 in the series.

Fragility in motion. . . At the same time I see elements of myself in this book, and know I am not fragile but strong. Do weread because we see something of ourself in the bookswe are drawn to?

This book reads very slowly, but an awful fascination is growing in me with every page.

Am really enjoying this book, even though it is paced quite differently from his previous two. The setting puts me in mind of his autobiography 'Last Resort' about growing up in a holiday camp, a book dedicated to his Dad. So perhaps there is something in that.

Past the half-way mark and still enjoying the ride. . .

I must say I really enjoy reading this book, and all of Linwood Barclay's books that I've read so far. But I am a little surprised to find that this is the kind of book that I actualyy ENJOY reading; so I have to ask myself why do I read some those other books? Am I still following some sort of neccesary reading list, set not by a teacher or lecturer but by my peers?

Pages simply meting away as the story, gathering pace, rolls towards its conclusion.

Still with the story and want to get through it as quickly as I can. The rush seems necessary because I am also watching the tv series and find the differences in the two stories disturbing my enjoyment of both the book and the series.

Okay, it's Saturday, a beautiful, clear and sunny, winter's day; how come I'm sitting inside reading a book!?

I have read the occasional Stephen King book before, quietly, as though indulging in a secret vice. It's his reputation as a writer of horror stories that has stopped me from embracing his books openly. It's his talent for creating credible characters and describing small town life that is the lure drawing me back again and again for yet another fascinating journey into one of his imaginary worlds.
