The title of this really doesn't fit. It's a multigenerational story that covers a vast array of characters.

The pace is almost too swift, but the great characterizations keep me reading.

I can't say this book is great, but it does keep me reading--probably because of the heroine. I'm just fascinated by her. The story has some tragedy, which I normally don't enjoy reading. But in Rachel's story, I just keep hoping SOMETHING gets better for her.

So far, so good. Very different than a normal romance.

Putting this aside for a bit... Might come back to it.

Good summary of the Scarsdale Diet Doctor murder.

Skipped the chapter on Manson. It's too involved a story to summarize in one chapter. I do think the write up on the Shepard case was good.

I always get angry at the Roscoe Arbuckle story. That man's career was destroyed over nothing. Such a travesty of "justice."

Off to a good start with the Thaw-Nesbitt-White affair. Will be interesting to read the author's take on some famous cases.

I am having a hard time getting into this story, so setting aside. Will try again later.

Not quite sure how I feel about this yet... Will give it a chance for a bit longer.

LOVED the intensity of the interview when they FINALLY question this guy about the murders!

The first detective who was easily fooled set the tone for three more murders. >:(

How could no one see what was happening?? His wife. Then his son. Then his daughter. What the hell!!

Smith knows how to pick true crime stories with very evil perpetrators. This guy is horrible!!

Putting this one aside. Not that it's a bad book--it is well-written. Just gutted by a story about children being murdered. A personal trigger for me as a teacher.

Some interesting cases!

They better convict this guy (she says, knowing that most true crime books end in conviction or they wouldn't be written).
