i’ve began to sympathize with lucy as she grapples with her relationships with susannah, with martin, and most especially (to her), with her mother. her mother has caught susannah and lucy in the act and now she’s willing to do anything to get her mother to speak to her again, even if that means letting the illusion of her love for martin be the priority over the reality of her love for susannah.

lucy’s beginning to piss me off less as we delve into more of her feelings, thoughts, and emotions concerning susannah. beautiful lines written about her attraction towards the other girl. susannah saying “no, you like me.” and lucy finally coming to the realization that she does in fact, and also realizing that she’s a bit of an attention whore have made me release a sigh of relief.
