I did not see any of that coming. There was one sentence previously that’s had me worried I had made my hopes too high for this book, but it has since been redeemed - and surpassed. I fear I’m about to go down a rabbit hole reading all of Jonathan Sims’ work.

So far, it’s a slower pace and while I’m intrigued by the story, it’s hard to keep my attention on this for long.

A twist I didn’t expect, I can’t wait to see the ending

I can already tell, this will end with 4.5-5 stars. It’s chilling, paranormal, and grotesque featuring eldritch horror and creeping dread. Going to bed and having that eery feeling of being watched after reading this means Jonathan Sins is doing everything right.

Prologue and first chapter finished - so far I’m enjoying this! Obviously I don’t have much to go on, but I love a prologue that talks about gods and the world before getting into the main story, so that already caught my attention.

The story is set in third person pov, and is very well written.

So much has already happened in 300 pages, holy SHIT

I’m enjoying myself quite a bit, dare I say I’m in my dark romance era 🤭 I like that we get some background into Lilias life before she goes to Dracadia University, enough to form a connection with the character. I can’t wait to see how the mystery of the parasites - and romance - unfold.

I’m officially invested in this book. Even though most of the last 10 chapters have been continuous games of Chase, I can see the romance of our MCs heating up and the big plot reveal happening soon. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I’m enjoying the horror aspect of this book, but the fact that it’s fantasy might be helping 🤭

I’m pleasantly surprised by how well I’m liking this so far! The atmosphere and unique twists on the supernatural have me fascinated for more.
The hunt between the two main characters begin quickly, but the pacing remains steady. I’m excited to dive deeper into the world, and the games Alina and Silas have for each other.
