Halfway through reading and it has made me reflect on the human condition- how death can be looked at in myriad of ways. I feel that Ivan Ilyich’s mortality is not confined to his physical deterioration, but unfolds psychologically long before his body gives out. His obsessive fixation on his illness becomes a kind of secondary death, a psychological death.
I question my past attempt and the months that led to it.
