"He acted with the same stealth he had used when he trailed the coyotes and wolves to steal their kills. He could sit against a scrub cedar for hours until he seemed to be part of it."

Doris
Doris is on page 93 of Ride to Banshee Cañon
"Far away across many miles of prairie, the shaggy figure huddled in his stinking hides, too frozen to sleep. His teeth chattered, and he could not stop his mind from seeing the nightmare banshee." This book is unlike any "cowboy" book I've ever read. It delves deep into the soul of a man who's suffered deep trauma/assault. It penetrates into the apprehension he feels... longing, in fear, for companionship.

Doris
Doris is on page 142 of 544 of Ten Million Steps: Nimblewill Nomad's Epic 10-Month Trek from the Florida Keys to Québec
A gentle, yet hilarious journey - Nimblewill Nomad on his early backpacking trek. I've been both horrified & left laughing loudly so far.

This book is intense. I'm immersed in a dangerous post-apolcalyptic world full of starvation & hypothermia.

Doris
Doris is on page 384 of 400 of The Cactus Eaters: How I Lost My Mind and Almost Found Myself on the Pacific Crest Trail
The end started going a bit rocky as does the author's experiences of needing to leave and return to the trail, but it was a good read.

Engaging book. It is funny, sad, hilarious and it offers good lessons for backpackers and hikers about preparations & mistakes to avoid.
