Didn't do a lot of reading today. Trying to savor it 🔥

This book is 460 pages but Goodreads is counting the bonus stuff from the next books into the count. So really I only have 150ish pages left. I still don't feel connected to this story. I give don't really care for the characters. None of these characters have any substance that makes me want to find out what happens to them.

It is so so hard to stay focused and read.

I feel like so much has happened but we're still in the same place. Like a treadmill.

I am suspicious of the Royal court. If Fourth Wing and Acotar taught be anything, is that you can't trust the self imposed good guys.

I am suspicious of the Ascended. Don't age? Can't have children? Don't have to worry about seeing them when the sun is up? 🚩🚩🚩

What the hell is going!? So much information is thrown at you very quickly. History, map locations, names, lore and world building. I feel like I need to take notes 😅

Compared to the first book, this one has a much better flow to it. No weird time jumps. Back and forth POVs give the male and female lead better chemistry.

Took a little break after my last book I read was.......less than great. 😬

Nothing like a good ole opposites attract trope to get you back into the groove of things.

I know I'm 50 pages into this but the FL is so boring. I think she supposed to be like ✨cutesy socially awkward✨ but she just comes out bland and rude.

I get it. Nesta treats people badly. She's the mean girl. Nesta let poor poor Feyre--blah blah blah. I am so tired of this endless loop.
If you want someone to change for the better then you can't keep treating them like their still the past version of themselves. Putting in the same input expecting a different output is so stupid. It's the definition of insanity.

Not a fan of Rhysand or Amren in this book.

It's been sooooo hard for me to get into this one. I wanted more Feyre and Rhysand. This book is all about Nesta. Is it nice to change it up? To get some other perspective? Yes. Do I like Nesta? No.

Her character arch better speed up the pace because I'm half through the book and I'm not convinced.

After 3 very busy and action packed books, I like that this book helps catch your breath. Nothing was normal in the previous books. From curses in the Spring Court to trails Under the Mountain and then straight into war with Hybern. We've been speeding down a steep slope head first from the very first chapter.

Besides trying to set peace treaties, we're seeing how everyone adapts to civilian life again.

I feel so sorry for Feyre's sisters. To become the very thing you hate. To be ripped away from all you've known and all you love. Then surrounded by strangers with their sister so far away in the enemy's territory.

Very convenient that their dad has been away trading for so long, I must add.

Excited to see the sisters' future. Elain can kick Lucien to the curb for all I care. Nesta and Cassian, though.

Really loving Feyre's character arch here. Her time in the Court of Dreams is doing her good.

Begrudgingly, I am starting to really like Rhysand and his rag tag inner circle. There is ~something~ I can't trust about him. I don't know if it's the past betrayal of Tamlin or maybe the hints I have gotten from BookTok where people seem to hate him.

I think my heart will still hurt when I find out why they hate him.

I wish for a glimpse into the Spring Court after Feyre was gone and Tamlin had returned. I hope he hurts for what he did to Feyre. I hope another layer of guilt wraps around Lucien's mind. I am more suspicious of Ianthe.

I think Rhysand is like a magician. He distracts you with one hand and then pulls the trick with the other. I feel like we're only seeing the distracting hand. He may not be lying but......
