So far lots and lots of characterization. (And also very weird gay experience descriptions). But…I hope it’s not pointless information and things that’ll be important later. I hate when books gives me extra information that doesn’t add anything to the story in the end. The reviews about it being “boring” are kinda scaring me.

I think I might of underestimated how long this book is going to take me to read. I’m worried…

But loving the writing is far! Already a very ominous tone. Also love the omniscient perspective.

Did some sleuthing on people’s reviews. A large majority said it was boring and a waste of time…???

Oh my god this prose…

Okay so a couple of thoughts so far: Fourth of July chapter was so sweet, and probably one of my favorite moments of the story so far. I feel like the murder mystery subplot hasn’t really been making any progress. And lastly, I do like Griffin, butttt I feel like he’s kinda a shallow character. I don’t know, there’s not a whole lot of depth to him. Also I’ve never read a book with this much spice…

Is it bad that I like the mystery plot of a detective in a new town trying to prove herself, more than the Griffin and Winslow romance plot??

Loving it so far!! Dev does a fantastic job at creating voice within her characters. A million times better than Christmas in Quincy so far. I also absolutely love this Eden family as well and can’t wait to continue unraveling all their secrets. Griffin’s first chapter was great!

So is Cleo in this story or…? 😭

Hmm not sure if I have a solid opinion about it so far. I haven’t been as into it as I wanted to be. I just haven’t really gotten invested in the characters or story yet. It just feels very low stakes I guess…

I LOVE Merissa!! She’s my favorite character so far. I feel like they are setting her up to kill her off. I’m going to be so upset if that happens. I also really want to know more about these Stars and how they function in this world. I’m intrigued 🤔

Just got started with this one! I don’t read much fantasy, but have always been interested in the genre. I thought the zodiac inspired gods/goddess was such a cool concept. Taking me awhile to get settled in the world and characters. But I’m liking it so far!

We finally out the answers!! I’m pretty satisfied with how the mystery was explained, although the logistics are a bit confusing. Specifically the deal that they both made. I have a lot of questions about how they got stuck in this loop, and why their souls are tied in this way. I think it would benefit from a revisit

I’m really loving this so far and I’m so excited to see how this mystery unfolds. I’d say my only critique right now it’s a bit repetitive with Evelyn’s internal monologues throughout about her impeding death(s) and her connection to Arden. I’m hoping for a bit more variety and depth.

From a purely writers perspective the ideas and concepts in this story are genuinely so impressive. To put yourself in the perspective and historical background of each time period is so fascinating. Not only is there an ongoing 2022 plot running throughout the book, but there are snippets and small stories from every possible point in history. Laura Steven your mind is unreal!

What’s a word stronger than love? I suppose whatever it is, Evelyn and Arden have it.

Surprisingly very poetic and an infinite spinning romantic tale. Interested to know just how far back we’ll go and of course how this curse came to be. Loving this so far

Got burnt out from reading IT so taking a bit of a break from it and starting this one. Genuinely one of the coolest concepts for a story I’ve ever read

Been locked into work this week so haven’t had much time to read. The length is definitely getting to me now, I think there is a lot of exposition and extra info that could’ve been shaved off this book.

Light read today, afternoon went by fast and I wasn’t able to read a whole lot. Surprised by how they are going back n forth between adults and kids during Part 4, not mad about it.
