It’s been years since I revisited Cormac McCarthy. These late novels deliver the best dialogue stream around. Better than any movie dialogue. Utterly grounded in character. His protagonist Bobby Western is a modern-day Dante coursing through the circles of purgatory, meeting a melange of characters who have their own stories to tell. From the sordid to the divine. And the main thread is still this larger mystery.
