In science we have been reading only the notes to a poem; in Christianity we find the poem itself.

We should prefer to think that all nations and individuals start level in the search for God, or even that all religions are true. It must be admitted at once that Christianity makes no concessions to this point of view.

I've finished the commentary section now. The background info that Tolkien gave on the first half of Beowulf was excellent! The last section of the book is his original Sellic Spell - like a prequel to Beowulf.
