I love how this book is not just a straight up power fantasy and shows Willi as a Messiah or something, but instead it his heavily challenged by Gertie. There are a lot of parallels with the Dune movies here and I love it. I hate that Willi didn't say anything against turning Fanna though, it feels really wrong. HOLY SHIT! This book is real good, really enjoying it a lot.

Finished One: 1407, the Final year of the Ramanga

The way everything is described in this book is really enjoyable to read. The premise is interesting, after James this would be the second his-fic I'd be reading about a black character. I didn't enjoy James that much but this is definitely more fun to read.

PS: I am someone with not enough of cultural context for these texts so I make make errors in interpretation

I've definitely found my hook now, the story got way more interesting after the character of Violet was introduced and I'd like to see where this goes.

Okay so, I'll be honest, the only reason I got this book was for the summer challenge, and so far, I'm not really hooked. The concept and everything is interesting but for some reason the narrative just doesn't feel gripping to me. Since this is such a short read I will finish it. I do find the concept interesting so I hope I find my hook with the book.

Finished Part II - King of Shadows

Darkstalker is so messed up, no wonder he scared the Nightwings tot he point where they abandoned all magic. And all of the Icewings are traumatised of him.

Turtle definitely deserves to be my favourite dragon but Quibli might just steal his spot!

Yeah so, remember when I said Darkstalker was like Paul Atreides, yeah forget that, he is nothing like Paul, Paul was an anti-hero, this guy is straight up evil. Like who comes back from the (kinda) dead after 2000 years and the first thing he does is SPREAD A PLAGUE ON A PARTICULAR TRIBE!?

Also Quibli is very cool, he's climbing my ranks of favourite dragons pretty fast.

Finished Part II - Rise to Power

Wow, Darkstalker is some crazy manipulator. First he was probably manipulating his tribe with his charm, then using his ability to see the future to his advantage and now straight up casting spells!

Not gonna lie the first two things sound very much like Paul Atreides, this is exactly the kinda thing he did and I can't help but draw parallels between the two!

Finished Part I - A Dragon Awakens

That was a lot. Darkstalker is definitely upto something, and I've started to find Anemone quite annoying. Not Turtle though, he's one of the bestーI don't care if he has crippling anxiety or whatever, he'll definitely cone around by the end of the book.

Really excited to start this after the ending of last one. The story will probably pick up right where it was left off. And now we have Darkstalker rising. It will be really interesting considering Turtle is the protagonist of this one, would love to see what goes on in his head.

Finished Prologue

Okay that was morbid as fuck! Totally didn't expect that.

Very disappointed that Peril left the Jade dragonets, I hope she can go back to accept them. Also I don't understand what's the deal with Soar but I won't look anything up until I've finished the book. Also they're mind controlling Peril? What the fuck?

Peril is such a softie it's weird to think she was basically being used as a murder weapon this whole time, and her trying to befriend Turtle was the last thing I expected but it's really cool

Really excited to start this book, since we'll be following a dragon who isn't a part of the Jade Winglet, and someone who I've been a huge fan of since the first book.

Finished Part II - In the Claws of the Clouds

Wow! That was one big crazy revelation! I really hate how after everything Winter is trying to push his friends away, I know where he comes from but it's still not great. I'm sure he'll come back though, definitely don't appreciate how rude he was to Moon after everything they had done for each other. Very curious as to who the Nightwing is (hopefully not Morrowseer)

Finished Part I - A Cold Wind

This new group dynamic is quite different than what we had with the dragonets, but that makes it a lot more interesting. Winter is a really cool protagonist & it's enjoyable to see him maneuver his way through.

Finished Chapter 15

Man I feel bad for moon, she doesn't deserve anything that she's going through. It's difficult to tell weather Darkstalker is actually good or bad because right now he just seems like someone who got trapped in wrong circumstances, but there is definitely more to him than what come to the eye. I'll definitely be reading his book after I finish the main saga.

Finished Book II - Chapter 13
These people out here playing 4D chess, literally everyone has plans within plans. Everyone is seeking to fulfill their own agenda, ready to betray anyone else to gain what they want.

Finished Part 1 - Welcome to Jade Mountain

DARKSTALKER HAS COME! I honestly thought we wouldn't see him until WoF: Legends. This book has been amazing like all the other books. I'm loving our roster of new characters, though they don't come close to the OG Dragonets of Destiny, talking of which, the dragonets feel so much different nowーthey're all grown up. But I'm glad we still get to see more of them.

Finished Book II - Chapter 11
I think I've caught up with the events of the first movie. The journey of Paul Atreides has been an interesting one. In the last few chapters we've seen his dark side brewing, the effects of the Bene Gesserit training. From this point onwards the book and the movies will deviate heavily which will be really interesting to read.

Finished Book X
Ulysses and Diomed chasing Dolon was honestly quite hilarious, and then bro folded under no pressure only to be killed. Also love Athena/Minerva for her support to the Achean heros.

Finished upto Chapter 5 of Book 2 - Muad'dib

Until now we've only seen Pual and Jessica trying to survive in the dessert and the Barron trying to hunt them down. It's interesting how we see Pual as his mind evolves and he becomes more detached even if he doesn't want to. And at the same time we explore the evil ways of the Barron.

Finished Book I - Dune

This is a slow burn but in a good way. All the characters are interesting.

Read till Chapter 3
This is a really great introduction to the new protagonist and I love that we still get to see our old dragonets. They feel all grown up now even though this is barely a few months after the last book. It's probably what feels like to watch your kids get all grown up knowing you won't see them much anymore T_T

Finished Book IX
Have been busy so reading has been slow.
Achilles just won't let go his hate of Agamemnon (deserved and won't even fight, even after being convinced by the likes of Pheonix and Odsseus. It's getting to a point where it's becoming child-like, all of this while Hector is on a killing frenzy destroying the Achean army.

Finished Book VII & VIII
Man really hate gods interfering with the war. Even Zeus who keeps saying not to interfere with the war and then he tips the scales in favor of the trojans.

And Paris is still a bitch.

Finished Book VI
Never expected to see Bellerophon's story to be mentioned here. Nothing much happens but overall a cool chapter.

Finished Book V
This was one bloody chapter. Gruesome and graphic deaths all around. And Athena and Aphrodite have some real beef going on, and I think my username makes it pretty clear which one I support.

Also Diomed is a fucking badass. Man went up against three different gods and wounded two of them. If he is on this level I can't wait to see Achilles come back into the fight.
