I think in mystery/horror/thrillers, there’s a fine line between mystery and being so vague that the reader doesn’t feel invested, and this is erring on the side of so vague I’m losing interest

I’m so frustrated with this book right now - the author has had the FMC eavesdrop on three different conversations to move the plot along. That’s just lazy writing. I also think the MMC should be a bit more likable halfway through a romance which is ironic given all of the conversation about writing romance in this book.

This man has had so many opportunities to NOT make the stupidest decision of all time

I want to love this because the premise of falling in love with an MLB player is just so ✨me✨ but this is sooo cringey and Chris is frankly being very stupid, and I don’t see how they’re going to resolve the conflict in this one because this is an unprecedented level of deception at this point.

I am really enjoying this so far. Loving all of the characters and the way the stories are being told in parallel. I’m dying to know what’s going to happen, and I’m hoping that I enjoy the second half more than reviews lead me to believe I will because this has been a really fun read for me so far!

I put this on hold ages ago and I guess I thought it would be cute/it’s supposed to be funny but so far it is just wildly uncomfortable
