I feel like I particularly struggle with books that have been translated - I think it’s difficult to retain the original essence. I’m struggling with this one…I enjoyed Penny helping people with their dream complaints, but I find the world a little confusing and pretty uninteresting so far.

UPDATE: Just found out A24 has literally already picked it up to make a movie…which somehow gives me the ick…even though I do think the story may work better on screen.

The “evilness” is a little too on the nose to be truly unsettling. I can really see this being an A24 movie or something. The prose is enjoyable for the most part and I am intrigued to see where it goes.

I don’t know how I feel about how often the perspective switches and I’m far more interested by Erin’s story than Alison’s atm.
