While he briefly notes some general conditions of oppression Catholics were living with in NI, expected more analysis of the context that led to the Troubles. So far a mostly mythic account of the guerrilla movement itself, but also the recipe of oppression + certain resistance tactics = nightmare.

This is third time I am turning to Romero. What a witness to the true hope we have in Jesus in times of betrayal of true religion, and of great temptation to hate and to violence and evil. Romero dismantles the idols of the age with the simple, radical, uncomfortable clarity of Jesus' message for humanity: to be converted into people like Him, more willing to suffer for peace than to choose self-serving violence.
