Really enjoying this so far. Seems like a great focal point for Doug's writings, covers everything about his philosophy of cultural reformation.

Galadriel refusing the ring is such an anti-feminist moment—I love it.

Really good stuff so far. Haven't actually read any of these yet—Doug wasn't on my radar in 2018.

Well, this is fun. Not sure if I caught this fully the last time I read Fellowship, but I found a thing I definitely prefer in the books over the movies: Gandalf escaping from Orthanc has great foreshadowing in the book, while in the movies it is basically a deus ex machina (though forgivable because it doesn't really solve a major problem, I suppose).

Some really good stuff in this one—I know I've read a couple of these before, but there are also some gems I hadn't hit yet.

I'm definitely enjoying the book, but I feel like I may need to read it again after this in print to really get some of the arguments—and read up on the philosophies and tragedy/comedy dichotomy Leithart is exploring in the book.

Feeling a tad lost.
