Douglas Macarther really blew it. He decided to stay with high caliber weapons and when we got in vietnam we had garbage weapons to up up against a AK 47. We spent 20 years not inventing any new guns when we knew the Russians had it. We told ourselves we had the best when we didn't. Dummies.

Oh w o w!!!

Not much is going on. They have burned atlanta and are heading east.

So far he has joined the military and mostly laid around. Watched fort sumpter being built. Went to california and mostly rode around with no fighting. He is depressed thinking he will never do anything important. Little does he know......

Pretty good book but a few too many battle details. Interesting man
