Rich writing.

Finally reading this fine-so-far good-good novel.

Enjoying the writing style and having a few chuckles so far.

I've heard a lot about the Bess Crawford series, but this is the first I've read. I'm enjoying it so far.

And it's awfully, decadently, down-and-outedly good.

Reading backwards, starting with the acknowledgements and such at the back of the book, which deals with some of the author's research and inspiration. Intrigued.

More than halfway through now, and still enamoured.

So far it's a shining star of a novel! And perfect for reading on a summer night.

So far it's as magical as constellations of stars, the Milky Way and the spinning Earth.

I'm getting close to the New York wedding of Vinnie and Charles, who will be the little people couple Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thumb of PT Barnum's American Museum fame. Meanwhile, the war between the Rebels of the South and Lincoln's supporters is going on. Much history in the making.

Charming, inspiring, smiling, heartwarming, thoughtful, fun, a love letter to books and bookstores.

Reading by bits and smiling. Intend stretch it out.

About halfway through - and don't want to get to the end.
