I’m really enjoying this.

I am really liking this. It is a little transparent with the subject of eugenics and racism and progressing society at the expense of others while hiding that progress from those who will be affected.

This one was definitely not for me. I marked 3 lines that stuck out to me about attacking things out the societal norm, people’s tendency and motivation to talk down about others, and the effect a job has on our free time.

Book club with Fabi

The plot is about as thick as that pool of nutrient Vata is swimming in.

So far the main character seems a bit antisocial/psychopathic. Waiting for the weird stuff to happen...

Very intriguing. At the part where Shadow finds out Guemes has been destroyed and that Kareen thinks a Merman sub caused it. Shadow wants to discover who did it, Kareen wants to cover it up due to political implications (fuel supply, goods production, kelp restoration project —> land restoration and increase food supply).

Liking it

Interesting characters. Interesting exposition with the kelp mystery. Much easier to follow along than Destination Void. Actually writing notes in book & chapter reflections.
