time to finally read this baby~♡

oooh i loved this take on the legend of king arthur and the knights of the round table~

ooooh i really loved "the bone fields", i'm such a sucker for norse stories and shield maidens 🙂‍↕️

just finished the titular story and i'm liking the writing a lot so far, (and i loved the little twist at the end~). so i'm excited to read the others and see what i think of this collection as a whole

only one chapter in but i am intrigued 👀

elizabeth zott is such an inspiration, honestly. just living her life going after what she wants, acting how she wants, saying how she thinks and feels, uncaring of how others expect her to act because of her gender. she is so unapologetically herself and i love that ♡

oooh i like them bringing up the (un)reliability of using just mind reading as a way to find out if a suspect is guilty or not??? the reality that some mind readers may be personally biased/say someone is guilty bc that's what the detectives want to hear, how some suspects may be strong enough to hide their guilt etc.

i can't lie i hate it when short stories (especially of the horror variety) follow an annoying, judgemental, egocentric MC. like we're here for a short time and i have to be in this asshole's head and i'm supposed to care? 😭 i thought this was something only male authors did but apparently it's a risk with female authors, too. (asshole MC's can be cool, but i've yet to see short form fiction pull it off)
