Jeez. Guy takes a sudden left turn to jerksville on their wedding day.
Turns into a stereotypical villain real quick -- complete with cheesy Lifetime-movie evil husband dialogue.

Still sticking with it for the guilty-pleasure melodrama and unintentional LOLs.

Two-thirds of this book has been place-setting. It established a neighborhood, a fractured friendship, an unwanted houseguest, and a paranoid protagonist.

Pretty good job doing that, but a tad repetitive and tedious.

Now something has actually happened and the book has finally become a mystery. Hoping my patience will pay off with some twists and a good ending.

Been "table-setting" so far. Now finally getting to the plot of buying & selling forged art.
The book is really well researched. But from a narrative standpoint, it's been meandering.
