Getting slightly frustrated with the constant references to the 1970s. Okay I get it, it's set in the 1970s enough already!

Still getting confused by all if zahir's friends, especially the one who Continously updates his virtuous and good people list. This live story with sabirah doesn't seem to be taking off although you ache for it to do so. Why did she stay in India?

Struggling to get into this book. A number of names but not sure who is speaking when. Description of the plague was fast paced. Hope to get more into it after 50 or so pages.

This book whilst quickly becoming my favourite is becoming too involved in the detail surrounding the war in Afghanistan. I am disappointed that Roberts did not touch more on the assassination of indra and has sought to set out his experiences fighting in no less than four chapters.... Becoming slightly tiresome reading how wonderfully great he is at everything.

This book is quickly becoming the best book I have ever read about India. Excellent pace and wonderfully described. Not a banyan tree description in sight!
