I hate to say this, the book isn’t AWFUL. after learning it’s YA I stopped taking it so seriously. Sure it’s poorly written and it’s lacking in so much. But if you just shut your brain off, it’s fun. the whole Chaol Dorian love thing is sort of enjoyable. I want there to be more beef between those two, so ig I’ll keep reading. That little part of the story is lowk more interesting than the primary story.

Literally all I’m reading at the moment is books where nothing happens. Kafka still goated though.

Something happened, then it went back to nothing happened. Also, I only just realised this is a YA book, I’ve been waiting to read some smut to see what the hype is and apparently there’s NONE in here. This information will significant dampen the reading experience I fear.

“Nothing ever happens” the book, but if it was well written and actually interesting still. Bout to take this to work and be so performative about it. Feminist literature next

Got bored of Throne of Glass and decided to pick up Stoner. Slow start so far but I have no issues, I’m not deep enough in to make a proper judgement but I will say the opening pages are quite unique!! Looking forward to reading more soon!

When does something happen

Idk if SJM has ever even taken a writing class. After 8 chapters, I don’t think I’ve seen a single metaphor, or simile or even some other basic literary devices. It’s crazy the amount of simply telling and not showing in this book so far.

Celaena is the best assassin!!!! Celaena is the prettiest!! Yeah but we’re only told that. Never shown it. Idk if I’ll get through another 350 pages tbh
