Winn's prose and storytelling is phenomenal. I am truly loving the characters and the relationships they have with one another. Gaunt's and Ellwood's relationship is honest, brutal, sad, and heartwarming even in the first 120 pages - which scares me for the ending! I love how Winn incorporates classic poetry and other literary references throughout. Her descriptions of war are grisly but tasteful and articulate.

Okay, so the slow tension is good and I am really starting to enjoy the style and structure. It’s very well written and I am enjoying the uncertainty and fragility of the situations and the relationships.

The book is interesting but a bit slow. Not much has really happened yet but there is a slight tension in the relationship between Adam and Teddy. I

I am hoping the rest of the book picks up and that Khurana can land the ending.

great pacing. seamless multiple POVs - one of feeney’s strengths. gets you hooked from the beginning. great halloween spooky read since it takes place at the end of october!
