Only just started to read the book, but already seeing the point many reviewers have already made regarding its “scattergun” form. E.g.:
“More women than men lived as hermits in England from 1100, until the Reformation of the church ended the practice. Julian of Norwich was one of them.”
That’s literally it. Julian has no other detail or mention save in the index.
