I didn’t realize this was a YA book when I picked it up but it has still captured my interest. The main character, Poppy reminds me of myself at 18 with her wonder of the world and sentimentality. The book is moving more slowly in terms of revealing her family’s background and I’m looking forward to discovering more. I’m especially loving the California scenery though. Feels like home <3

It’s a bit hard to follow and I expected a more whimsical story. But I guess that’s what I get when I don’t read the synopsis
