SPOILER ALLERT: It wasn't tragic but I would say it could be better. It lacks originality, sometimes it felt like I read parts of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast mixed with Dune (the worm). It is indeed very, very predictable book. The beginning of it didn't work out, the writer made a quite big jump from the main characters hate each other to their sudden love an affection, which makes it not authentic.
