The writing in this book is gorgeous. Despite being only a little ways in, I feel like I know Junie as a character already--both how she is now and how she must have been before Minnie's death.

This book is rough. Beautifully written but hard to read, especially if you're already in an anxious mood.

The villain is a misogynistic bully with terrible business practices who uses religion to justify his might-makes-right attitude and who wants to take over Canada. Where have I heard this before?
