reading brown girl dreaming and I'm on the verge of tears while reading every single poem. I know all the things talked about in he poem have (and still does) occur (I'd be an idiot if I didn't), but he way these poems were written are is so powerful. the speaker is a little girl, specifically Jacqueline Woodson as a girl and I feel that that makes it so much more power.
