Okay, I really didn’t want to like this book. I started reading it at the recommendation of someone I care about. I tend to think most contemporary literary fiction is overrated and pretentious (because I’m still a snobby sci-fi nerd in some respects…)

But damnit I can’t put this book down. I’ve laughed and teared up more than once and the book isn’t half finished.

My performative self was compelled to let you all know my progress rather than just reading in contemplation and simply “being.”
