Oops, I already read this. It felt familiar but it took me about 100 pages to realize.

Strangely compelling and also surprisingly predictable? Or rather, I could see how it would resolve.
Very well written.

The repetition us starting to wear thin. We will see if I can finish.

Stopping on the third story, just not my cup of tea.

The first poem I read is "Prince Performing "Motherless Child" (Live).

Had to return this to the library in my old town, hope to buy it sometime soon.

This is so engaging, found in a free box and am glad to finally be able to read it. The first account of 9/11 that I had a physical response to, but that is probably me and my very slow emotional processing.

Almost there, some entertaining pieces, but hard for me to read more than 15 pages at a time. I lose interest.

I'm not sure if I will keep going. Maybe one more story.

Two years of French at University, probably should have spent that tuition money on a trip to France. Not the textbooks fault, just questioning my life choices as per usual.

His use of language....there is nothing I can say to register my admiration of how he turns a phrase and marches out vocabulary with such casual oomph.
Certainly not a book for those ruffled by racist or sexist language, but the humanity in this novel is something everyone could use.
