Fascinating!!!!

"I see tonight that in spiritual work, if nowhere else, the character of the worker decides the quality of the work. Shelley and Byron may be moral free-lancers and still write good poetry. Wagner may be lecherous as a man and still produce fine music, but it cannot be so in any work for God" (218).

"Heart of mine, when wilt thou learn this lesson, not to be dependent upon they context for joy, but upon this One" (126).

Written on October 17, 1948 - seven years before he would give his life in service to His Savior:

"Father, if Thou wilt let me go there to Peru with Thee to labor and to die, I ask that Thou wilt let me go soon - nevertheless not my will" (95).
