I think this is the third time I’ve read this book. Just a good enjoyable read, and love to think on some of the topics John mentions about the soul of a man! I always recommend this book to anyone looking to grow in life and their walk with the LORD.

Cal Vickers is on page 63 of 152 of The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom
Going well, a nice easy read. Interesting perspectives on life and human interaction. Both from an interpersonal level and intrapersonal level. What we say, and how we perceive things have a profound effect on us. So far, I’ve learned to “be impeccable with my word” (that is without sin). And “Don’t take anything personally”. Overall good solid advice to avoid suffering in life.

Cal Vickers is on page 97 of 146 of The Great Divorce
An interesting perspective, but in true C.S. Lewis fashion I can see the war between heaven and hell clearly in the pages. Much less of a war, but more of a slow and steady drift away from the joy of Christ and into the complexities that distract us from what originally brought us joy to begin with. Ultimately leading us into a state of denial that we are really that far removed from Him, or in desperate need of HIM.

Cal Vickers is on page 63 of 400 of Paradise of the Damned: The True Story of an Obsessive Quest for El Dorado, the Legendary City of Gold
This book is great. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about reading a non-fiction history book about the legendary city of gold, but I am hooked. The book reads very much like a fictional adventure yet it’s based on actual history! Excited to see what’s to come of Walter Ralegh’s crew and their obsessive search for the famed El Dorado.

Hoist the anchor, man the guns, and batten down the hatches we sail at dawn!
