Nabokov's prose is pretty great, the premise of this novel seems unique too I am intrigued. Takes a lot of attention though

I am itching to re-read Solenoid but I know I have other things to be reading...

I'm not holding onto every word but the writing is really beautiful and the translation is smooth, some incredible similes

I can't imagine any better writing about the South. Can't wait to finish tomorrow and collect my thoughts.

Reading this as well as As I Lay Dying has just lit a fire in me to read all of Faulkner's work. Difficult but poignant with a labyrinthine level of complexity.
